Dear Friends and Family,
Now I would like to tell you a little bit about what's happening now and how it's come about. Right now I am in Española, New Mexico visiting the McMath family and helping them in their ministries. Brian McMath is the Pastor of Valley Bible Baptist Church. Their mission statement is that the "Valley Bible Baptist Church is a Christ-centered, Bible believing, family-oriented church with a vision to reach out into the community with the Gospel. We are an independent, KJV, soul-winning, separated church committed to, and working for, the glory of God until the Lord returns. We preach the Bible as it is to men as they are." The McMath family also serve the people of Espanola with their many ministries including their Van Ministry, Spanish Ministry, Children's Program, Youth Sunday School, Deaf Ministry, and Valley Bible Christian Academy.
They are a really wonderful family who love Christ and it has been really wonderful serving them in their everyday life and ministry. The McMath family have 6 children: Andrew (27), Naomi (25), Luke (23), David (21), Rachel (19), and Benjamin (14).
I met their oldest daughter Naomi 4 years ago over the phone. And we got to know each other as she couched me through College Plus. For those that don't know, College Plus (CP) is a Christian coaching program that prepares students to find and fulfill God's purpose for their life and helps them earn a college degree through advance placement CLEP tests. With Naomi's help, a lot of studying and by God's grace, I was able to earn 24 college credits before graduating High School. By the time I graduated Naomi and I had gotten to know each other quite well and had enjoyed many wonderful conversation about our walks with Christ. So when I graduated she invited me to come and help them with their ministries and get a feel for a mission field environment. With everything that was going on with graduation it wasn't a good time though. After that Naomi and I fell out of contact for a while since I wasn't doing CP and we both had busy lives. It wasn't until 2 years later (a few months ago) that I called her up and asked if that opportunity was still available. Her answer, as you know, was yes and that she would love to have me come. She had actually just been thinking about it a few days before. From there, we planned the details and God provided for it and blessed it. So for the next 3 weeks I'll be here and I'll be trying to write to you all each day to tell you a little about what's going on here and what God's doing. I hope it's encouraging to you. God Bless. :)
